Sophie Zalokar



Originally from the Barossa Valley and trained as a chef with Maggie Beer, Sophie Zalokar is also a food writer and stylist, recipe developer, food educator, regional food and agritourism consultant and destination media personality.

Over the past 30 years Sophie has been engaged across roles in the Food, Hospitality and Culinary Tourism, Agribusiness, Publishing and Media industries. Her work being driven by her love of connecting people with an authentic sense of place through the experience of discovering and eating memorable food while respectfully honouring ethical and sustainable sources.

When Sophie’s not thinking about who from and where to source fresh produce for her next meal and what that will be, she’s out and about on her adventure motorcycle discovering new horizons and what’s good to eat and drink there.
