Rob V

Music Artist

Albany, Western Australia

Rob.V is known around town for his upbeat solo acoustic performances at a variety of local venues.
He is also a key member of 3-piece rockers ‘Dig The Dust’, sharing the stage with many great artists including Mental As Anything, You Am I, Jimmy Barnes & Ian Moss. Regular appearances at Blues @ Bridgetown Festival & Blues & Roots
were definite highlights.
9 years ago was a defining moment for Rob and a mutual decision was made to relocate to Walpole in the
Great Southern with his family.
Once settled he started re-exploring his creative urges and started performing in the region.
One gig led to another and if you ask anyone they will tell you he is one of the hardest working muso’s
around town. The fact that his shows are so consistent and continue to please audiences speaks a lot for his
passion for music and showmanship. The chance to perform with 2 like minded musicians Doug Simpson
(Drums) & Ross Seymour (Bass Guitar) was a unique union in a town of 500 people and Dig The Dust was born!
The last 6 years have seen the band kick in to gear releasing an all original debut album ‘Feels Like Home’
and performing regular shows from Margaret River to Albany.
Most recently adding support slots for ‘Southern River Band’ & ‘Grand Casual’.
Writing is currently under way for their follow up album to be released in the near future.
With the corona virus outbreaks and lockdowns the performances all came to a sudden halt with his
final solo show at Six Degrees on Sun 22nd March 2020. Rob.V found himself completely out of work and
for the first time in 25yrs and was unable to perform in public. However this turned out to be a gift and allowed
him the time to get stuck into writing and recording his first debut album from his home studio.
In Late 2020 Rob started releasing singles and the full album followed in late Feb, 2021.
His new album ‘Illusions’ is now available via spotify, apple music, youtube plus many other online platforms.
