Geographe Wine Show Award Winners at UnWined

One of the newest wine regions in Western Australia, Geographe was established in 1999 and represents diverse options for growers, from coastal plains to the slopes of the Darling Scarp. It has been interesting watching and tasting the growth of the wines over the past few years and it now forms an important part of the state’s wine region landscape.
We are pleased to congratulate the recent winners of the annual Wine Show Awards and also announce that two of the major winners will be lining up at UnWined Subiaco this year.
The Wine of the Show, Best Red and Best Shiraz was awarded to the family owned
wine company Willow Bridge Estate, a first time exhibitor at UnWined for their 2015 Gravel Pit Shiraz. Other gongs for the winery included the Best Rosé with their 2016 Rosa De Solana made from the Tempranillo grape. And to cap off the trophies, Kim Horton & Dougal Herd were awarded the Nicholas Baudin Trophy for Excellence in Winemaking! We are also pleased that long term exhibitor at our shows, Talisman Wines took out the three prestigious white wine awards. The Best White Wine and the Best Chardonnay for the 2015 Talisman ‘Gabrielle’ Chardonnay and the Best White Varietal with their 2015 Talisman Riesling.
We hope you take the time to talk to these award winners at UnWined Subiaco on 29 – 30 October.
