A Showcase of Our Future Chefs and Hospitality Staff

Hospitality Group Training held its annual Youth Skills Showcase at the Hyatt on Sunday night with a fabulous four course dinner, designed and prepared by the apprentice chefs of WA for the industry and parents attending. There were 23 apprentice chefs involved in the kitchen along with around twice that number of hospitality students serving the tables. It was a pleasure to see the aspiring talent being put on show.
The final dish was stunning (pictured) and in line with the night’s Spanish theme. Hazelnut Natilla with Sangria Jelly, Almond Suspiritos and Grilled Peaches.
It is exciting to see some of the young talent coming into the industry, but with the projected future shortage of chefs and hospitality staff, we would love to see more people taking on this important role in the hospitality and tourism sector. It can be a rewarding career path and one that will only grow in the future.
Those entering the industry are seen as the future of the delivery of the excellent food and wine in the state.
Hospitality Group Training provides nationally accredited on and off the job training tailored for apprentices, trainees, employers and staff at various hospitality establishments throughout Perth and regional areas of Western Australia. For information go to www.hgtwa.com.au
