Swan Valley Wine Show Winners

September 3, 2015

The 2015 Singapore Airlines Swan Valley Wineshow and dinner was held on Friday August 28 and was attended by 235 guests including a group of eight media guests from Singapore.

Talijancich Winery was awarded the Singapore Airlines Trophy for the Best Wine of Show with the Pedro Ximenes Liqueur 2007. Windy Creek Estate was runner up for their 2015 Chenin Blanc.

Sittella Winery and Faber Vineyard shared the award for The Most Successful Exhibitor of the show. You will be able to talk to the people from these two wineries at the 2015 UnWined WA event in Subiaco or why not take time to visit the cellar door.

Interstate Wine journalist and author, Huon Hooke had high praise for the wines he had judged and was genuinely impressed with the wines of the region and some of the new varietals being produced. Stephen Brook from Decanter Magazine found both Chenin Blanc and Swan Valley Shiraz with the fortified wines being of a world standard.
The Swan Valley, WA’s oldest wine region, located within 30 minutes of the Perth city centre is really producing some great wines and well worth re-discovering if you have not been there for a while.

Other awards winner included:

Best Single Vineyard White Wine - Upper Reach Reserve Chardonnay 2010,

Best Single Vineyard Red Wine - Upper Reach Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2014,

Best Varietal White Wine/ Blend - Windy Creek Estate Chenin Blanc 2015,
